Japan -  , Zemljotres kod ostrva Honšu 2011. godine je potres magnitude 8,9 - 9,1 Rihtera koji je pogodio severoistočni deo ostrva Honšu u Japanu u 14:46 JST (05:46 UTC) na petak 11-og marta 2011. Epicentar je bio 130km od istočne obale Ošika poluostrva Tohoku regiona blizu Sendaja, sa hipocentrom na dubini od 32km. Ovo je najjači trus koji je pogodio ovu dalekoistočnu zemlju od kada se vrše merenja. Nastradao je veliki broj ljudi, za sada se vode brojke od 5.692 mrtvih, 9.506 nestalih i 450.000 je ostalo bez krova nad glavom, broj mrtvih nije konačan i očekuje se da će rasti. Pokrenut je cunami visine 10 metara. Očekuje se da će serija slabijih zemljotresa trajati mesec dana, od čega će najjači dostizati 7,0 stepeni.
